For Immediate Release

Tues Nov 23, 2010

Duncan, B.C.: Organized by the International Hempology 101 Society, the 1st Annual Cowichan Valley Cannabis Film Fest will be held tomorrow night, Weds Nov 24, at The Showroom in the Duncan Garage. Produced in the US in 2005, WAITING TO INHALE is the first full length film to focus upon medicinal cannabis issues.

Based out of Victoria, the International Hempology 101 Society has been educating the public about cannabis and prohibition since 1995. We offer a free, non-credit lecture series at the University of Victoria, which is available live on-line and recorded for youtube and publish a free newspaper, the CANNABIS DIGEST.

The International Hempology 101 Society works closely with the oldest medical cannabis provider in the country, the Cannabis Buyers Clubs of Canada.

A panel of individuals will answer questions from the audience after the film. Topics of interest will likely range from the Marijuana Medical Access Regulations, medical dispensaries and how to make edible or topical cannabis products.

A raffle will be held at the end of the evening to raise funds for the legal defence fund of the Cannabis Buyer’s Clubs of Canada, based in Victoria, B.C. Last Dec the bakery of the CBC of C was raided, leaving Owen Smith with charges of 2 charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cannabis and THC. With two of the best lawyers in the country on job, John Conroy and Kirk Tousaw, victory is almost assured, but it will cost an estimated $100,000 to pay for the trial.

The Showroom is located at 201-330 Duncan Street. Admission is $5. More details about the movie are available at waitingtoinhale.org. For more information see hempology.ca or contact Ted Smith at 250-381-4220 or hempo101@gmail.com.
