International Hempology 101 Society Annual General Meeting 2009

The 13th AGM of the International Hempology 101 Society will be held on Tues Oct 6, giving members a chance to learn more about the inner workings of the group and how they can help. With several vacancies on the board of directors, this is an opportunity for interested members of the public to get involved in educating the public about cannabis. For those not able or ready to join the board but are still wanting to get involved, this is a perfect occasion for people to find out how our not-for-profit society operates, the challenges we have faced in the last year and what is planned for the future. The meeting starts at 7:30 and will be held at 826 Johnson St.

In the last 14 years members of the International Hempology 101 Society have organized a wide range of events and printed vast amounts of information to educate the public about cannabis and prohibition. We have helped establish the UVSS Hempology 101 Club where we host 22 free, non-credit lectures on campus which are broadcast live on-line and saved on you-tube and hold weekly 420 meetings through the year. The UVSS Hempology 101 Club is the largest student club at the University of Victoria and we just started a club at the Vancouver Island University in Naniamo. We also have a game show, REACH FOR THE POT, hold an annual convention, publishing the Cannabis Digest newsletter and host other events. Our next project, TEAM 420, has great potential to encourage athletes out of the closet while promoting hemp alternative sporting products. Lead by General Manager, Kristen Mann, we also organized a national phone-jam against Bill C-15.
