For Immediate Release

Tues, March 11, 2008

Victoria, B.C.:  The “Prince of Pot”, Marc Emery, will be in Victoria tomorrow to present a special one hour lecture on POT AND POLITICS at the University of Victoria.  Mr. Emery is facing extradition to the US for selling seeds over the internet and money laundering, charges also faced by two employees who worked with him at the time, Michelle Rainey and Greg Williams.  Though the seed business has not been operating since Aug 2005, Marc is still the President of the B.C. Marijuana Party (which has a store in downtown Vancouver), publisher of Cannabis Culture magazine and Pot.tv.

This will be lecture #20 in a series of 22 classes co-hosted every year by the UVSS Hempology 101 Club and the International Hempology 101 Society.  This is the second year of the lectures, though the UVSS Hempology 101 Club has existed since 1995 and is now the largest student club at the University of Victoria.  As well as the lecture series, the UVSS Hempology 101 Club holds weekly 420 gatherings, an Annual Cannabis Convention and other special events.

The POT AND POLITICS lecture by Marc Emery will be from 3:00 to 4:00 pm Weds, March 12 in room #062 in the Elliot Building at the University of Victoria.  The lectures are open to the public and can be viewed live on-line through a link on hempology.com.  The lectures are also posted later on sites such as YouTube.
