POT DOGGONE GOOD

By Hempology | September 16, 2005

Calgarian Bob Martin said he wouldn’t feed Fido marijuana if he wasn’t willing to ingest it himself.

The same goes for horses, some of which are now grazing on cannabis supplementing their oats, said Martin, who’s helped bring a Nova Scotia-based brand of legal medical marijuana gel caplets to Alberta.

“I thought ‘holy smokes, there’s really something to this’,” said Martin, who takes the caplets to bolster his immune system.

His wife Shirley and sister-in-law have both largely banished their arthritis pain after turning to the Med Marijuana brand supplements, said Martin.

“Those two girls were recently standing for three days painting — I couldn’t believe it,” he said, adding the supplements cost about $40 a month.

Interest among potential distributors in Calgary is picking up, said Martin, and the product’s content hasn’t hurt.

“The name gets peoples’ attention.”
