ST. PATRICK’S DAY CANNABIS CONVENTION

Victoria, B.C.–The biggest gathering of cannabis activists in
Vancouver Island’s history will be educating students and the public
at Camosun College on St. Patrick’s Day during the 3RD ANNUAL
CANNABIS CONVENTION. The explosive line-up of speakers includes the
controversial owner of CANNABIS CULTURE magazine and the web-page POT
TV, Marc Emery, HEALTH CANADA researcher, Dr. James Geiwwitz,
Transglobal Hemp Corporation representative, Brian Johnson, author of
the recently published, SEX, DRUGS, VIOLENCE AND THE BIBLE, Chris
Bennett and many others. The president of Victoria’s Hempology 101
Society, Ted Smith, is very glad to still be free and able to
coordiate such a fantastic event.

Recent police raids in Victoria at Ted’s Books, where the head office
of the Cannabis Buyer’s Clubs of Canada is located, and more recently
at the private residence of Marc Emery, have resulted in public
outrage. HEALTH CANADA’s pathetic medical cannabis program is
continuously causing unnecessary suffering and premature death, as
the few with legal permits to possess cannabis have no legal source
for their medicine. Over $5 billion is wasted in Canada per year
fighting the War On Drugs, which doesn’t even begin to account for
the human costs involved or lost revenues from these substances not
being responsibly regulated and taxed. Canadians are empowering
themselves with information to use against the government, with many
engaging in peaceful acts of civil disobedience by growing and
distributing the cannabis plant.

Other speakers include:

This is the third symposium organized by Victoria’s Hempology 101
Society, though this is the first time the event is being held on the
campus of Camosun College. The first two conventions were hosted by
the University of Victoria Student’s Society Hempology 101 Club,

which is still in existence, but since Ted Smith was arrested after a
weekly 420 meeting on Nov 8, 2000 he has not been allowed on campus.
This symposium will be hosted by the newly formed Camosun College
Hempology 101 Club, hopefully inspiring other students to organize
their own events on campus’ across the country.

The 3RD ANNUAL CANNABIS CONVENTION will be held from 1 to 4 pm in the
Young Building Auditorium on the Landsdowne Campus of Camosun College
on Sun March 17, 2002. More information about the speakers is
available at www.hempology.com and www.cannabisculture.com.
