Ingesting cannabis is much preferred by many people. The main and most obvious reason being not having to put smoke into our lungs. Another important reason only recently discovered is that we have localized CBD receptors within our bodies. If we apply cannabis oil or salve to a sore knee and then smoke a joint, most of the active chemicals are going to go to work right away and to the spot that needs it the most. Ingesting cannabis allows us to keep a consistent supply in our bodies for a longer period of time. This is especially important for conditions such as epilepsy, glaucoma, and chronic back and muscle problems involving spasm and pain as it acts in a more time released like fashion than smoking does. We supply the world’s largest line of edible and topical products.

Great for dunking! Extra strength cookies are made with bud instead of leaf to give exceptional pain relief without melting you to the couch. Budda balls are best for those with compromised digestive systems such as Crohn’s disease and diabetes, and are a complete meal replacement. They contain oats, hemp protein, soy protein, coconut, sunflower seeds, almond powder, honey, cannabis infused olive oil and lecithin. Ryanols are veggie capsules containing grape seed oil (good for dissolving bad cholesterol) infused with cannabis and lecithin. Ryanols are a convenient, affordable way of eating cannabis when feeling nauseous. Lozenges contain Chinese Wolf berries, Slippery Elm Bark, flax seed water, lecithin, and Cannoil. Wolfberries help fight free radical damage that lead to DNA and genetic mutations and cancers. They will improver your sleep, digestion, memory, accelerate healing, re-store libido, regulate blood balance of both sugars and cells. Cannoil is olive oil infused with bud so you get more analgesic effects with less muscle relaxant effects. Tape Cannapatch in place for 10 days to 3 weeks (changing every couple of days), to help heal broken bones. Apply directly to insect stings and bites, varicose veins, sore joint and muscles. Relieves arthritic inflammation and rheumatic pains. Cannapatch may be used to pull infections, including sties, insect bites and stings. Do not re-use Cannapatch used on infections. Cannapatch may also be used to relieve sore, inflamed eyes as well as pinkeye. Warm and place Cannapatch on upset or cramping stomachs, irritable bowels, or menstrual complaints. Cannapatch may be used to treat 1st degree burns and chemical burns not requiring medical attention. Cannapatches are an excellent muscle relaxant and provides superior pain relief.

Topical Oils, Salves and Lip Balm

Cannabis oils have a multitude of uses, and we can express health-giving oil from the seeds. Oils may be combined for specific uses as most plants work synergistically (better together). Our skin is one of our largest organs and is capable of absorbing medicine as well as expelling waste. It makes good sense to apply a medicine directly to the site of need whenever possible. In this day and age this is a very viable form of application due to the fact that most people using a North American diet usually have compromised digestive systems.

Cannabis Oil is an excellent pain reliever because it stimulates localized THC and Cannibanoid receptors throughout our bodies to help the cannabis we smoke go directly to the site most in need. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory by stimulating circulation. Cannabis is also used for almost every condition of the skin from eczema to fungus, as well as atopic dermatitis. It may also be used topically for stopping migraines and headaches.
St.John’s Wort and Cannabis Oil is especially good for the circulatory system. It helps all aspects of bruising from stopping pain, to facilitating you body to reabsorb the bruise without clotting. It will strengthen capillaries and veins, which is important to compromised livers, as well as varicose veins, with very favorable reports from migraine sufferers. St.John’s Wort and Cannabis oil is also good for scrapes and cuts, minor wounds and burns, making it an excellent first-aid remedy. This combination is also one of the best things to stop abdominal cramps of all types, break down blockages, as well as relieve stomachaches. Used in combination with Lozenges one member has had bowel surgery cancelled. It will soothe inflammations of the skin, and is a specific for recurrent ear infections.
Chinese Mint, Eucalyptus and Cannabis Oil is wonderful to rub on your chest for chronic bronchitis, asthma, influenza (flue), and whooping cough. It can also be used for fever headaches, sore throats, rashes, stomach bloating, and neuralgic and rheumatic pains. It may also be used as a rub for your pets to help repel fleas and mites.
Chinese Mint, Camphor and Cannabis Oil will help all lung complaints, local rheumatisms, sprains and strains, bruises and neuralgia. Also used as a rub for stomach and bowel complaints such as spasmodic cholera, flatulent colic and diarrhea.
Arnica and Cannabis Oil makes an excellent treatment for inflammations caused by things like arthritis and sprains. It will reduce swellings and relieve pain associated with these conditions. Arnica works by stimulating blood circulation and intercellular fluid exchange and is an accepted ingredient for many arthritic and athletic preparations. We have had 2 surgeries cancelled from regular it’s use. It also soothes minor burns, ulcers, eczema, and acne. This oil is not to be used on broken skin or open wounds, as arnica can act as an anti-coagulant (stops blood from clotting).
Salve is made by adding beeswax to the desired consistency and is good for all first-aid purposes, as well as fungal infections and athletes’ foot type complaints, eczema’s and dermatitis, allergic reactions to the sun caused by allopathic medicines.

Arnica salve seems to be a specific for lupis, providing almost instant relief and preventing outbreaks becoming exasperated.

Lip Balms contain cannabis and calendula oils as well as shea butter added for both skin moisturizing and a natural sunscreen. They are easily flavoured with pure essential oils for either personal taste or specific health issues.

        GAYLE’S SUPER TREATS

Medicinal biscuits for dogs are our newest product! I have been making cannabis dog biscuits for 15 years. Veterinarians have watched tumors disappear and arthritic’s play like puppies, heard chronic cough go away. Cannabis has held lymph cancer in remission for 13 years, stopped infections, and reduced agony for pet and owner both.

AIDS, wasting conditions, those affecting the immune system, and cancers are all greatly benefited by ingesting cannabis. As a smooth muscle relaxant it stops nausea, stimulates the appetite, stops hot flashes and enables folks to eat and maintain their normal body weights. Tumors of all types (especially breast,) have been reduced with the use of cannabis. The anti-tumor properties of THC and CBN can inhibit tumor growth by 25% to 82%, without damaging normal cells. Multiple sclerosis suffers respond positively to having a steady supply of cannabis in the blood- stream, and combined with the added benefits of lecithin in baked goods, many experience significant reduction in tremors and muscle fatigue. Cannabidiols help many with MS and MD to remain tremor and convulsion free with no toxicity, behavioral impairment, or tolerance. Epilepsy is benefited from by 60% of cannabis users. I have seen eye tremors stop in one puff. Ingesting small amounts of cannabis on a regular basis helps keep seizures to a minimum as well as improving bladder and bowel control. Tremor, seizures, muscle spasms, convulsions, and pain from MS, MD, spinal cord injuries, etc. are all reduced due to the serotonin-mediated anticonvulsant actions of THC, CBD’s and CBN’s. Hepatitis C and other liver ailments will be helped with daily ingestion of cannabis as THC stimulates the liver to create it’s own healing enzymes, as well as reducing pain, stimulating appetites and preventing nausea. Atheroscleroses and Strokes are responsive to ingested THC due to its anti-inflammatory action on blood vessels. Modern research indicates this action also protects against heart attacks. Another important factor is one’s state of mind. One member quotes “Cannabis alleviates the physical and mental strain (of liver cancer), nausea, vomiting, pain-all less.

The cannabis plant is extremely interesting in that 2/3 of its chemical makeup is inactive until heated. This is why the main way of ingesting cannabis continues to be smoking. Heating cannabis increases its potency and is the reason that you don’t get high if you make a cannabis salad (unless you toast your buds first). You don’t want to expose it to too high or prolonged a temperature, or you start to destroy its active chemicals.

The easiest way to convert THC-acid and CBD-acid into active THC and CBD is to spread your cannabis evenly on a cookie sheet and heat to 250 F for 30 minutes.

Then cook the cannabis in butter or oil in a double boiler for 30 minutes to 1 hour to extract the cannabinoids from the plant material.

One ounce of good leaf cooked into 1 cup of oil will make 25 cookies, and ¼ ounce of bud will make 150 cookies.

Add into your favourite recipe, trying to keep the cooking temperature under 300 F and around an hour or less.

It’s time to reveal the secret ingredient! LECITHIN! That’s right, lecithin. It comes from soybeans, eggs, corn, wheat and nuts. You can get it in liquid or powder for baking (also great for greasing your muffin tins with), or in capsules as a supplement. Lecithin is found in all living cells of the human body. It aids the body’s use of fats and oil-soluble vitamins by emulsifying them to a form we can use. This is why we add it to our cannabis baking, to help our bodies use all the Cannoil. Lecithin breaks up cholesterol to help prevent Arteriosclerosis. Lecithin is essential to a healthy nervous system as it is found in higher concentrations in the Myelin sheath, (the fatty protective coating of the nerves) so you can see how it will help things like Multiple Sclerosis and White Finger. A type of Super Lecithin (lecithin combined with other nutrients) has been found to arrest Alzheimer’s disease. It can also restore memory banks, prevent gallstones from forming and lower you blood pressure. A lack of lecithin can cause forgetfulness, nausea, and intolerance to fats, high blood pressure, joint and muscle problems such as bursitis, cramps and soreness.

Oils may be combined for specific uses as most plants work synergistically (better together). Our skin is our largest organ and is capable of absorbing medicine as well as expelling waste. It makes sense to apply medicine directly to the site of need whenever possible. In this day and age this is a very viable form of application because most people using a North American diet have compromised digestive systems.

Cannaplasts are a poultice made of recycled plant material produced in the making of cookies and oils, wrapped in new cheesecloth. They are applied directly to insect stings and bites, varicose veins, sore joints and muscles. They relieve arthritic inflammation and rheumatic pains. Cannaplasts may also be used to help sore or inflamed eyes, pull sties and alleviate pinkeye. They are warmed and place upon upset or cramping stomachs, irritable bowels, or used for menstrual cramps.

Also use on broken bones, sprains, strains and bursitis, for appropriate lengths of time.

They work best if you apply some massage oil first.

Cannabis can be used to replace almost any type of allopathic medicine, from diuretics to anti-depressants – ear oil to throat sprays, and salves to reduce tumours. Extracts have been found to be effective on everything from bacteria and fungi, to the herpes virus and staphylococcus that are resistant to penicillin and other antibiotics. You can virtually make medicine from every part of the noble cannabis plant, be it male or female, kola, root or seed. That one of the planet’s most precious plants is still oppressed must be one of our society’s greatest travesties.

Hemp seeds are the most-balanced source of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids. The body cannot produce these EFA’s so they have to be taken in with the foods we eat. However, when foods are processed, their EFA’s lose their nutritional value and even become toxic. Hemp milk also has a strong digestible protein profile, is a good source of iron and contains no trans fat. Hemp seed has no psychoactive properties but hemp oil is the best fat to promote efficient assimilation of THC and other beneficial cannabinoids.

1. Mix 1/4 – 1/2 cup of hemp hearts with one cup of water and let soak over night
2. Blend on med. high, or with a hand blender until a smooth consistency. Strain if desired and dilute with up to another cup of water. More hemp hearts make milk thicker and tasty.
3. Add vanilla, honey, or other flavourings to taste. Enjoy!
Store in a glass jar in the fridge. Use within a couple of days.

You can buy hemp hearts at Simple Remedies, Shift and Hemp & Co. Show your membership card for a discount.

The CBC of C is introducing another alternative product: medicinal rice crispy bars!

They are not only delicious, but made with a cold infused process, with bud stalk soaked in extra virgin olive oil for 1 month. It has never been heated in the extraction process and so seems to have an exceptional clarity of the head to the stone, while also having great pain killing and muscle relaxing qualities.

You may make your own crispy squares by using any rice crispy square recipe and substituting Cannoil for the butter or margarine in the recipe. Don’t forget to use lecithin also to help with the absorbency of the THC and CBD’s in the oil. For those of you who were lucky enough to see Santa Cannabis and try some of his Poppy-Pot treat (and especially for those who didn’t), he has been kind enough to let us include his recipe!

Poppy-Pot Recipe: 4 cups freshly popped corn lightly salted, 1cup nuts, 1cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lecithin, 1/3 cup pot butter or Cannoil, 1/2 cup corn syrup (light), 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

Directions: Put popcorn and nuts in shallow roasting pan (large pan). In heavy saucepan mix sugar, lecithin and corn syrup. Stir over medium heat until boiling. Continue boiling 5 min. without stirring. Remove from heat; add vanilla, pot butter or Cannoil, baking soda, and mix well.

Pour over popcorn and nuts; stir to coat well. Stir several times while cooling to keep from sticking together too much. Cool, break apart and store in tightly covered container.

Cool on lightly buttered pan. This recipe for Poppy-Pot serves / makes 4 cups.

In over 70 years of prohibition and misinformation, all science has been able to accomplish is to prove cannabis is capable of reversing illnesses, shrinking tumors, stopping people from going blind, reverse liver illness…” Indeed, there may be health benefits in addition to the ‘”proven benefits of medical marihuana, as marihuana levels of THC seem to strengthen the immune system” from Health Risks of Marihuana Use. On to one of my pet peeves – the USA. Nothing personal, but we as Canadians should not want to emulate, we need to educate. Since when has agriculture become Big Business? (1937), instead of health centered! And Health Care a multi-billion dollar industry instead of health conscious!

The only way I have ever felt personal gratification has been through educating, inspiring and encouraging others and myself towards personal empowerment. Herbs have always been my primary source of enjoyment and health (Cannabis included), because they grow freely everywhere, and may be grown freely (hopefully) everywhere. Dr. William C. Woodward spoke out against prohibition in 1937 “this law, passed in ignorance, could possibly deny the world a potential medicine, especially now…”(from The Emperor Wears No Clothes.) So the world (except for India) has been denied one of the Earths most wonderful medicines for many years now, unless you are willing to break the law. To date, “the most dangerous part of smoking cannabis remains the fact you can get arrested for it,” Professor Geyewitz in court last summer.

Cannabis has been a preferred topical treatment since it started growing beside the campsite. (Or people started camping beside its alluring aroma.) A bud can be applied directly to an open wound and it will not only act as a styptic (stops bleeding), but also as an antiseptic, (stops bacterial infections), anti-biotic (stops infections), antiviral (herpes), anti-inflammatory (stops swelling), and an analgesic (stops pain). Not bad for a little bud. A good thing to remember is that plants are chemically based, and allopathic medicines are synthetic (and worse, just partial) versions of the original plant. Plants need to remain “simples” so we don’t end up with crack-pot. The National Institute of Defense has extensively funded research on altering THE to the extent that THC-V is now produced (it is similar in strength and effectiveness to that of LSD 25. Now why would they need to do that?)
Oils, Salves and Lip Balm Cannabis oils come in a variety of forms for our use. We can infuse cannabis directly into oils for a multitude of uses, and we can express health-giving oil from the seeds. Oils may be combined for specific uses as most plants work synergistically (better together). Our skin is one of our largest organs and is capable of absorbing medicine as well as expelling waste. To me it makes good sense to apply a medicine directly to the site of need whenever possible. In this day and age this is a very viable for of application due to the fact that most people using a North American diet usually have compromised digestive systems.
Cannabis Oil is an excellent pain reliever because it stimulates localized THC and Cannibanoid receptors throughout our bodies to help the cannabis we smoke go directly to the site most need. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory by stimulating circulation. Cannabis is also used for almost every condition of the skin from eczema to fungus, as well as atopic dermatitis. It may also be used topically for stopping migraines.
St.John’s Wort and Cannabis Oil is especially good for the circulatory system. It helps all aspects of bruising from stopping pain, facilitating you body to reabsorb the bruise without clotting. It will strengthen capillaries and veins, which is important to compromised livers, as well as varicose veins, and very favorable reports from migraine sufferers. St.John’s Wort and Cannabis oil is also good for scrapes and cuts, minor wounds and burns, making it an excellent first-aid remedy. This combination is also one of the best things to stop abdominal cramps and break down blockages, also relieving stomachaches.
Arnica and Cannabis makes an excellent treatment for inflammations caused by things like arthritis and sprains. It will reduce swellings and relieve pain associated with these conditions. Arnica works by stimulating blood circulation and is an accepted ingredient for many arthritic and athletic preparations. It also soothes minor burns, ulcers, eczema, and acne. This oil is not to be used on broken skin or open wounds, as arnica can act as an anti-coagulant (stops blood from clotting).
Salve is made by adding beeswax to the desired consistency and is good for all first-aid purposes, as well as fungal infections and athletes’ foot type complaints, eczemas, and other skin conditions.
Lip Balms have shea butter added for both skin moisturizing and as a sunscreen. They are easily flavoured with pure essential oils for either personal taste or specific health issues.

(Makes about 1 1/2 lbs. of butter.)

Fill a 6- to 8-litre pot 1/3 full with densely packed herb leaf of choice. Fill
remainder of pot with cool water and bring the whole to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for
45 minutes.

Strain out and discard water but return leaf to pot. Replenish with clean water.

Bring pot to boil. Add 2 lbs. of butter and mix. Lower heat and let simmer for 2-3 hours,
stirring occasionally (add water if necessary).

Strain out liquit into bowl using a fine strainer (nylons work too). Squeeze butter out
of remaining loaf. Discard strained leaf.

Put liquid into refigerator over night. Butter will seperate from from water and form a hard
crust on surface of liquid.

Lift out butter crust and put in a large mixing bowl. Discard liquid. Cream and fold butter
using a large metal or wooden spoon.

Butter is ready to use as-is. Will keep in freezer up to three months.

When baking with cannabutter, select recipies that need short cooking times on a low heat
(like cookies), or else cannabinoids will break down while cooking.
